Maria + Derek | Heritage Park Bryan, Texas | Intimate Outdoor Wedding

I was ecstatic when Maria contacted me about her upcoming wedding with her fiancé Derek, so we scheduled a meeting to go over all of her details. We met over a glass of wine and chatted about her vision for the perfect wedding, her favorite things about her groom, and their adorable daughter. These two love birds have been together for five years and decided to finally make it official so they started planning their dream wedding. They envisioned a carefree, intimate wedding surrounded by their closest friends and family in Bryan, Texas at Heritage Park. She chose a variety of purples as her color palette to give her wedding a pop of color, which I loved! On their big day I met Maria at the Victory Rose Bed and Breakfast in Bryan where she and her gals got ready before the ceremony. My second shooter, Lindsey of Camera Lindz Photography assisted me for the day and we started with capturing the girls getting ready in the sweetest little bed and breakfast. The girls were so full of happiness and laughter and smiles were plentiful. After the bride put on her beautiful gown we took some bridal portraits at the B&B before heading off to the ceremony site. Maria certainly made a stunning bride!

As we arrived at Heritage Park, Maria’s family and friends had decorated the gazebo and party tent with purple flowers and ribbons and a gorgeous chandelier was hung over where they would say “I Do”. After all of their guests arrived, the ceremony began. Maria and Derek’s daughter as well as their nieces walked down the aisle tossing flower petals and Derek was awaiting his beautiful bride. Maria was accompanied down the aisle by her mother as both were beaming with joy. As they approached the lucky husband to be, he had the biggest smile on his face when he saw his gorgeous bride. The vows were spoken, rings exchanged, and the officiant announced the new Mr. and Mrs.! After the short, yet so very sweet ceremony I took the bride and groom away for a moment to capture this special moment in their lives. Maria and Derek could not contain their smiles and laughter, and it made my heart so happy. I could see the love they had for each other as they giggled with delight that they were finally married! We then grabbed their family and friends to take some group portraits.

Then came the rain. The rain started pouring as we were finishing up the family pictures. We ran to the gazebo for cover and just enjoyed the nice relief from the heat wave that day. As the rain cooled the air, all of the guests started the party with the newlyweds. It was so amazing to see the flood of happiness from everyone on such a magical day. Despite the downpour, the new Mr and Mrs enjoyed the party. Speeches were made, dinner was served, and drinks were enjoyed. Dinner was prepared by some of Maria’s family and was so tasty! Everyone had so much fun and certainly knew how to party. I felt like I was a part of the family! Congratulations Maria and Derek, I am so happy for you both!
